Joe Knox = Jack Sparrow?

Did anyone else think Johnny Depp's mannerisms occasionally mirrored Oliver Reed? The two are eerily similar in regards to looks, expressions, and physical quirks. Watch him when he leans forward to talk to someone. Seems too close to be a coincidence.
