I see Exploitation Digital are releasing this nasty nazi movie.Does anyone know if its the full version.I have seen the full uncut movie on a bad quality DVD as Caligula reincarnated as Hitler but this was in badly cropped fullscreen and I presume the new DVD will be widescreen.I think its released in October.Any news on the extras front also?
shareIt's released now and fully uncut as a one disc dvd. The picture and audio is supposedly terrible! Also, it's advertised as being wide screen anamorphic, but that's a load of bull.The special features are no existent.
All in all a poor release.
Oh well,i've already ordered my copy.Can't be as bad as the version that I owned before that was a fullscreen VHS rip-off plus any type of widescreen is good for a movie like this.

I mean come on ,it could of at least been done in animrophic widescreen!
It does seem strange as Media Blasters are normally top notch when it comes to transfers and I can't think of one release i own of theirs that is'nt anamorphic.Their other releases included interviews and the like but I suppose you can only do interviews if the film makers are available and who knows with a movie made in 1976 if they are still around.Media blasters have given us some amazing packages over the years in terms of extras and transfers so maybe this is the case.I have just got to hope that my copy makes it to me ok as I live in the UK where this is still banned and customs can open packages if they please.This DVD has the disadvantage of having BANNED IN THE UK! splashed across the cover.
shareMe too I'm in the U.K. Its sucks that we have to import dvds in the first place,let alone knowing that there is a chance that it will be confiscated and we will lose our money. But on a brighter note I imported Island Of Death recently and that has the same kind of text splattered all over the front cover and that got through O.K. Good luck I have yet to have a dvd seized although nearly every package from the U.S I get has been checked.
Xploited Cinema and Diabolik dvd seem to be targeted by customs Thats why I only order certain movies from them,it's a shame aswell I really rate Xploited Cinema. I spoke to him via email and he said when importing the more known confiscated dvds such as the August Undergrounds etc if you use the Fed Ex option he said there is a better chance of them getting hrough unchecked he said he has never known anyones A.U getting seized when Fed Ex is used.
Yeah same here.I have all but a few of the old video nasties(some because I cant find good copies such as is the case with Expose and others because I know they are crap such as Blood Rites) and have yet to have trouble with importing them(touch wood!!).I only tend to order them off Amazon but have used Xploited for titles I have known not to be a problem such as my other movie love Spaghetti Westerns.Have used Sazuma before also and never had a problem there even though I ordered titles such as Anthropophagus but they were a little slow.
shareI found Hk flix to be reasonably cheap but they are so slow in delivery and two of the three dvds I ordered the cases were damaged there packaging is crap.
Now a days I order my r1 horror dvds from Caiman via the Amazon U.K market place there well cheap and usually takes around about 7 days I would strongly recommend them.
Snap!!Have been using Caiman for years and have never had a problem

I noticed above that you have said you like the Spagetti Westerns. I have just started to get into those after watching the Good the Bad and the Ugly. I was IMMEDIATLY hooked I bought the complete trilogy.Another thing you have said that you have most of the video Nasties on dvd it's my goal to get them all I currently own just over half of the 74 titles and I gotta agree with you most of them are terrible.Especially Don't Go In tHe Woods Alone. I really want MGM to get off their ass and release Absurd as I have not seen this one. I wonder when the rights run out as I can't see them doing much about this one.
Didnt know that MGM had the rights to Absurd,thought it was an Italian company but you maybe correct.I own a VHS bootleg of this which is uncut and watchable but pan and scan.You can get a German widescreen DVD from Astro but there is no English dub or subs.If you are a fan of the nasties I presume you own the Burning on the Vipco label?Bad quality is'nt it?If you want a really good widescreen edition with crystal clear 1.85 transfer have a look at fleshwoundvideo.com.They have a massive collection of DVDs for sale and are excellent and easy to use(as long as you have a Paypal account).OK they are bootlegs but when bootlegs look as good as these I'll buy these over any junk Vipco release!!
As for the Spaghetti Westerns there are hundreds of them and as with horror some are excellent and others rock bottom poor.You have seen the Leone movies so maybe try some from directors like Sergio Corbucci such as Django or The Great Silence or The Hellbenders.There are a couple of guys on Ebay who specialise in Spag Westerns and have some obscure but good stuff.
Oh and any DVDs you are looking for,let me know and more than likely I'll know where you can get a copy from.I do spend hours trawling the net!!
Have recieved my copy without any problems from Caiman.Yes the transfer is non-anamorphic but its good and clear.The main problem is the sound which is AWFUL.Sounds like it was taken from VHS,full of hiss and dropout.For some reason Exploitation Digital have given us two versions of the movie,both the same in content bit one is in English and the other Italian with no subtitles.WHY?
