Not Possible to do good bio of Gable or Lombard

They were each so unique that it would be impossible to do a good bio movie of either one of them, much less try to match the chemistry between the two of them.

I agree. It's a waste of time to try. Just watch the one film they made together, "No Man Of Her Own," and let it act as an imaginary biopic. That's what I do.

There was an attempt at doing a story about Lombard before she met Gable (Lombard was to be played by Michelle Pfeiffer, while the man that she was with was to be played by Tom Cruise.) This was planned for sometime in the '80's when both were young, but it never got started. Too bad, as Pfeiffer looks a lot like Lombard and would have been convincing.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that she was first married to William Powell. (Which reminds me, they did take things from hr *films* and pretend they happened in real life, like the VERY fictional scavenger hunt at the white party - that happened in My Man Godfrey which she made with Bill Powell) Hopefully Mr Cruise wasn't going to make an attempt at playing him! Or her boy friend who was either murdered or accidentally killed and whose name escapes me ... Russ Colombo?? Anyway! :) I don't think MP looks like CL, but she is beautiful, which Carole was. Nothing mentioned at all about the facial scar CL had after a car crash in her teens.

Rent the movies and read books - this is not their story. The costumes are good, but i am frankly just watching it because i am sick and bored.

I think the movie they planned was about the romance between Carole Lombard and Russ Columbo, arguably: the love of her life.
