too bad you didn't like it.
Just wondering what did you think wasn't funny?
was it because it turned out to be more dramatic?

I went into this expecting a straight comedy so I was a bit let down when it didn't deliver but it was great anyway imo.

I see it as a black comedy. Much of the humor involves Howard's tension with trying to maintain his composure while trying to help his friends. The situation was so tense, he had to use humor to get by. I think this film had the right mixture of comedy and drama. Without the humor, this film probably would have felt preachy.

It's not a comedy.

Well duh. It's not supposed to be funny. It's about something very unfunny.

It's not supposed to be funny numbnuts. It's a drama with funny bits. It is based on the real House Unamerican Activities Committee. This was real. people lots their jobs, their careers, their families and yes their lives. The Blacklist wasn't just Hollywood it was in all walks of life. Anyone still living to this day that had anything to do with this black eye in American history should be jailed for the rest of their lives. I don't care if they are sick and dying. Jail forever with no hope of ever getting out. It was disgusting what the US Gov't did back then. Even John Wayne was a part of it and was responcible for people losing their jobs.

NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY!
