Worth seeing for one line of dialogue alone!

"Oh God, I promise I won't never do no more bad things! I swear! But, God, please don't let no rats eat me!"

I have this on dvd Mr H. Have seen once and it is not as hilarious as EMPIRE OF THE ANTS-77'; but still a fun watch. I do find it a bit cruel, with some of the cheesy miniature water effects they used and the live rats that looked like they were drowning.

Hey Rascal - I love "Empire of the Ants"! It is very enjoyable and I'm pleased that I'm not the only who thinks it's hilarious. Little subtleties abound! I'll never forget the time I showed the movie to a friend. He had never seen it before and when they're all going around on that tram and Joan Collins (who shows us just what she is capable of!) is shouting at all the guests... Rick commented "Why is she talking through a megaphone?" I laughed out loud at that as I never had really noticed it before. And it's so true. It's so ridiculous! So many things to appreciate in this one! I also become stupidly gleeful when ole' Grandpa Lemonade responds "Oh no, I'm just an old man! I only came because it was free! " LOL! It's my friend Damien's favorite movie. Very refreshing choice, I have to say. I just may have to watch it tonight!

Empire of the Ants and Food of the Gods are both two of my absolute favorite films. Bert I. Gordon is a filmmaking legend in my opinion. I could watch both films a hundred times and still not get sick of them.
