whats up with the ending

hey I've seen the ending to this movie but know nothing about the movie itself. did those guys get shrunk or is the ending some weird comic relief that supposed to be symbolic in a random sort of way?

it's just symbolism and a some kind of "poetry"

It's absurdist comedy in the Bertrand Blier vein. If you've seen other of his films, it comes as no surprise. Pedro Almodóvar sort of ripped off the ending of this film in his own "Hable con ella".
