Thanks but he's 84 now, no longer a 70 year old man.

Yes, someone else would have to play Harry. Wouldn't be the same.
Would it survive?
Well, the James Bond character has survived many actors playing that part.
As a fan of Sean Connery's James Bond I never thought JB being played by others would last long.
I was wrong!!!!

Perhaps Harry would too.
Only one way to find out.
Some studio must be willing to give it a try.

reply

I suspect after Clint dies the studios will take another run at Harry.

4) You ever seen Superman $#$# his pants? Case closed.

Eastwood SUPPOSEDLY was kicking around the idea 18 years ago but wouldn't do it now. Eastwood pointed out in an Encore documentary that by now, Harry would be long retired.

Now that Deadpool has shaken Hollywood out of its obsession with PG13, I'd love to see a new Dirty Harry done 70s style - none of the worn-thin smirky humor, no supermodel actors & actresses - just cops that look like real people doing their jobs, and Harry wading through the middle of them.

The one 4th wall break I'd love to see is Harry pulling out his trademark revolver and saying "This is a 357 magnum. It shoots through schools"

Clint's too guarded of Harry to let any one-incl himself-make another. I think the idea above about WB doing one after he dies is likely, unless he forbids it legally somehow.

Why not show an elderly Harry having to take on some punks in his neighborhood?

Imagine if Gran Torino had been about Harry......

reply

In a way, GT was sort of another DH.

reply

Nah way too old now.

reply

I LIKE WHAT WAS MENTIONED ABOVE...IN A WAY GRAN TORINO IS HARRY'S LAST RIDE.
