I agree with you! This movie was hilarious and weird. There are so many unintentional goofs and just plain strangeness that this movie is awesome. Its also cool b/c most of the places where they shot (Compton college, Crenshaw district, etc.) are still around (more or less) so you can see how they've changed or stayed the same.

I loved it. Fanaka made this when he was in film school at UCLA. In fact, he made three feature films in college that got distrobution.

I really liked the heart the film had. It did a great job showing that area of los angeles at that time, even tho' the plot is far fetched.

I appreciate fanaka's attempts to not be exploitive. I also loved the humor. Ema mae punching out peopel. There was a lot of truthful anger in film too. I really like the old man's speech, especially when he says he is ashamed he is still alive and not dead due to some violent act of rebellion. Heartfelt, angry, truthful and even scary words that perfectly illustrate the feelings of the times.

Dictated, but not read.

It's a bizarre film, but anything this consistently entertaining deserves a 7/10 from me. There's not really much of a plot thread here, just a few ideas randomly strung together with plenty of interesting dances and head pieces.
