Good Premise, Bad Execution

I actually thought the story provided lots of potential for a decent movie. The main thing lacking in this movie is blood and schlock! The torture scenes are pretty unbelievable. Are you telling me the same army that hires Josef Mengele to perform experiments on humans tortures people by mildly slapping them around and the occasional punch? How about some more creative ways like sledgehammers or shock therapy. FInally, I'm not an expert on the French Resistance but those guys in the last scene look ridiculous. Anybody notice half of them were wearing jeans? I didn't know people perform rescue operations wearing jeans. Also, was that Trey Anastasio from Phish in the final scene? Give me a break. This is one of those movies where I actually WOULD like a remake. Perhaps in the style of Frank Miller?
