Ending Changed

I saw this in a theater when it was first released in 1976. Just saw it again on video last night. I swear the ending has been changed. In the original we see Warren and the two girls supposedly in Rio(but it looks like they're at a backwoods picnic in the rural U.S.)celebrating the fact that they've gotten away clean after their bank robbery caper.
In the video version I saw last night, we see additional footage of Sheriff Christopher George arriving to confront Warren and the two girls, presumambly to tell them the jig was up(never mind the fact that South American extradition of fugitives is not always doable, just like in the case of Ronnie Biggs, the great train robber from England)
