The Score

Long before I saw this movie I had the pleasure of hearing Ennio Morricone's score. I imagined how it'd play with the movie, and although I didn't hear enough of my favorite tracks in it, it was still an amazing experience for me.

This is one of my favorite scores ever, I play it over and over, reveling in the melancholy main theme. The tracks 'Il Deserto come Poesia della Fine' expresses sadness and nostalgia like no other piece of music I've ever heard in my life.

I loved every time it played, especially in the farewell scene between Drogo and Hortiz in the desert.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

I'd rank this just behind Once Upon a Time in America and The Mission as one of the great Morricone's finest achievements. An exquisite score.
