Where was it supposed to be set?
Among the many things about this movie that made no sense were the unexplained mixture of accents and nationalities.Was it supposed to be set in the States or South Africa?
shareI think it was supposed to be set "somewhere other than America" although not specifically South Africa. Some of the dialogue would indicate that the main American characters (Mary, Dean) are a long way from home for various vague business/family reasons, but yeah, they never straight-up say "this is South Africa." Weird.
