Was she hungry or what?

In the scene where Wagner is comforting Jackson as the cops are investigating Carradine's death, Jackson does the most bizarre thing...She looks down at Wagner's hand, pulls it slightly toward her and acts like she's going to bite his finger!? Wagner clearly looks uncomfortable for a split second and yanks his hand away from her. I reviewed the scene three times and can't for the life of me figure out why the hell she would do that.?

Hi, responding six years later here, lol. This particular board is not too happening.

But no, I think Kate's character just felt a little weak for a couple of seconds, being a little shooken-up over what happened to Carradine's character, and she just doubled-over a bit for a second. I didn't notice Wagner yanking his hand away though.

So so movie though. I've always liked its premise of people staying on the estate of dead famous movie actress, with her body preserved young in a glass tomb on the estate grounds, and with the possiblity of the actress' spirit haunting the estate, but the story could've been handled a lot better.

I do remember seeing this about 30 years ago. A rather spooky film and stands out a bid from the usual made for tv standard.

Its that man again!!

That's a good explanation, Samclyde2. This film had a lot of odd touches, and it was pretty inconsistent in terms of tone. A lot of scenes felt rushed, especially the one with Joan Blondell. The ending was wonderfully weird, but the buildup could have been stronger. 6/10 stars from me.

Well it was "rushed", I think it was the last or one of the last of ABC's "74 minute" tv movies crammed into a 90 minute slot and this one really needed to be fleshed out into 95 minutes or so in a two-hour slot. Loved BABY JANE/SUNSET BLVD vibe though of the film and always great to see Dorothy Lamour, Joan Blondell, and Sylvia Sidney working in their later years.

reply

Yes, this would have been much better in a two-hour time slot. There's so much great atmosphere, but the story needs longer to be told.

Enough with the "Baby Jane" analogy - ridiculous.
