Supposed to be Eve's 'Big Break'

She took on a role that was supposed to be as far away from "Jan Brady" as possible.

Unfortunately, the movie and Eve both came off as "Jan Brady TRIES to Run Away From Home But Fails Miserably."

Marcia/Maureen McCormick would have given us a tougher, grittier runaway who succeeds when it comes to living on the streets.

If anything sunk Eve's career, it was "Dawn" where she proved her limited acting range - NOT her association with "The Brady Bunch."

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."
"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

Maureen did do a movie around the same time as Dawn. The name escapes me, but she played a character named Jenny who was rather slutty.

reply

"When Jenny When".So far Susan Olsen never did a TV movie in that period.

Give me a break. Most TV movies from the '70's are totally forgotten. Elizabeth Montgomery was very talented, and
did superb work in that era of TV, but who could really sit through those now? The approach in general is totally
dated.

As for Plumb, I've always thought that she AND McCormick were talented, and both were hired because they were
adept child ACOTRS. Susan Olsen was NOT talented, and was merely hired because she was cute. Same with
Mike Lookiland, and Chris Knight.

The industry is notoriously tough on post-TV stars. At least Plumb tried, and didn't get sucked into that AWFUL
Brady Bunch Variety Hour. Thanks to Youtube that atrocity can be viewed by millions, including the millions
who cannot outgrow The Brady Bunch series, despite being near retirement.

The industry is tough on most people.

Especially former child stars. But thank you.

reply

Very good.,

I think Eve's career was over anyway, she just hoped otherwise.
