Some great visual scenes

I thought this movie has some beautifully filmed scenes, one example is Casanova and the two sisters by the fire place. One of them is cloaked in black headress and is quite beautiful but there is something about her half hidden face in certain compositions that is very intriguing. I wonder if the two sisters represent something more or they are just one of Casanovas episodic adventures. Then afterwards the putting out the candles in the theater is a very atmospheric scene leading into Casanova meeting his old mother. I wonder if the candles and the cold snow outside is a metaphore for his mother getting old and closer to death. I don't think this movie is a masterpiece but it has some very beautiful looking scenes and symbolism.
