The realness of this movie

I was not alive in the 1970s, but the depiction of high school and the teenage characters seems so real to how I imagine how it really would have been. Also I can easily imagine how the 1970s culture would be adapted to 2020s culture if the exact same movie were made today almost like how people still are the same even though technology and fashion evolve.
