Should Amy Irving and Nancy Allen switched roles?

Despite her playing the villain in "Carrie", Nancy seems like one of the warmer people (in real life) from that cast. Sissy Spacek, though seemingly pleasant, does sometimes give off a vibe that is a weird mixture of both "distant" and "salt of the earth." Amy Irving has always struck me as completely aloof, bordering on utter cunt—either that, or she's just shy and doesn't have good social skills. PJ Soles seems sweet though (and slightly kooky).

[R16] I've heard rumblings of that over the years. Irving has always had a coldness about her IMO, which has come through on film. I don't know what it is about her, but even in "Carrie," where she's playing a sympathetic character, there is still a perceptible a level of aloofness to her onscreen. Allen, on the other hand, has a naturally bubbly and easygoing sensibility, even when she's playing a bitch. I think she and Irving should have played each other's parts in that movie, honestly.
