More of a supernatural tragedy than a horror film?

i loved this film, however i never really saw it as a horror piece, but the film hit me more in the way of a paranormal/supernatural tragedy. i was wondering if others felt the same?
i loved the music too, especially the opening sequence.

Yeah it's definitely a tragedy. I think even Brian DePalma said he saw it as a type of "Greek Tragedy" hence why everyone, aside from Sue, dies at the conclusion of the story. Yeah, there are paranormal aspects involved, but it's mostly a character study/tragic drama than an out and out horror movie. I think some of the images from the climax of the film "feel" like horror and that's why it's classified as such.

I'm the opposite - I consider it a horror.

This is a faithful saying...Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

I consider it horror too.

Good point. There are very different types of horror movies. The genuinly terryfing ones, the psycho killer ones, and there the unsettling kind, which I'd say this movie is.
