Rod Serling's Night Gallery

This movie reminds me of a long NG segment. I love the grainy and forlorn atmosphere of early 1970s horror movies.

Just watched it last night and that same thought struck me. Much like a NIGHT GALLERY movie. The same writers, producers, director and production design. Eileen Hackett was great, another criminally under-rated actress.

Notice how the basic plot has been redone (to Death) in recent years? Obvious inspiration.

It had that creepy 70's mood. And that sense of dread and its lingering after-effects.

Here Comes the Nightmares!

All that was missing was Rod Serling.

Overrated is overrated.

I've unfortunately never seen Night Gallery before, but if it's anything like this movie then I'll have to watch it soon. That's the ultimate compliment.

I love the Sheri Moon Zombie avatar by the way. House of 1000 Corpses was actually a part of why I wanted to see this movie because I wanted to see more films starring Karen Black. She is great in everything.
