HELP! Smolsky- only played by me..a GIRL..

sad story, my (all girl school) does a yearly production with OB's (an all boys) and this year it's bugsy malone. My drama teacher decided that my friend and i would make an awsome cop duo.. (joy of all joys) what she didn't mention was that she stole the character off another boy, she told him today actually, while my friend and i looked on..and man was he pissed off. Well what i need help with is

how on earth am i, a girl, meant to play a tough hard arse cop with a thing against the irish??? i love the irish :(

Be a method actor. Commit some hate crimes against the irish, to get into the swing of things.

haha that would do it. The "learn by experience appraoch" now if only i can experience being a man. not.

I played Smolsky in a community production also. (I'm a girl too) Its not hard. Just get into the character. You are a not so bright cop, trying to figure out a crime. Its a fun part to play.
