Both Noelle Rogers and Evelyn Lear were professional opera singers. They both sing for themselves as does Bonnie Leaders. Lear had an international career that included all the major international theaters including the Metropolitan Opera. Rogers had a more modest career that included the New York City Opera (Fiora in "L'Amore dei Tre Re"). She also sang Alcina in a famous production of Handel's "Rinaldo" in Toronto with Marilyn Horne, Benita Valente and Samuel Ramey. This is referenced in the film. More info on Ms. Rogers here:
