Does anyone have any idea of why they chose to play Bach's music, out of all the other composers, and especially The Art of the Fugue? It baffles me to see them use it as background music.

The original german version of this film featured a full score by the Peter Thomas Sound Orchestra (same guy who scored the Chariots of the Gods film which preceeded this).

When Mysteries was sold to the Americans for distribution they ditched the Thomas score, added Bach and others and slapped in some Wild Bill Shatner narration.

The Peter Thomas Sound Orchestra soundtracks are easily available on Amazon.
