B. Samurai SOUNDTRACK - what flick are they from?

I watched Black Samurai a month ago. I was actually impressed, it was better than I expected (Hot Potato was my previous Kelly experience after BBJones). Only complaint was the music was not very well placed at times...editing for the music was bad. I also noticed though (probably because I've recently been playing out some of my Blax soundtracks) that MOST if not ALL the songs/music in the film are lifted from another/other film(s). Before I go and pull out all my soundtracks and DVD again...CAN ANYONE LET ME KNOW WHAT MOVIE(S) the tracks are from???? Thanks.

I've often heard it used on ESPN's NFL Primetime. Other than that, I can't help you.

It sounds like it may be copyright free music. If that's the case it could be on a lot of things.

"Creepy Street" by Walter Murphy (who also had a song on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack) I read is used in this movie

The music from when Jim flys around with a jet pack was from another movie called Death Promise, which in my opinion was the best movie ever made.

The song played when the stripper was dancing at Janicot's party is "It Happened One Night" by Madeline Bell. When I found this ummm...how should one say..."hit" I nearly split my side laughing.

BEING A 1970'S MAN,AND GROWING UP WATCHING BLAXPLOITATION FLICKS,I LIKED JIM KELLY! SO I WAS ALWAYS CURIOUS TO KNOW WHEN THE MUSIC IN "BLACK SAMURAI",WHEN THE CREDITS IN THE BEGINING CAME UP,WHAT MUSIC WAS THAT FROM? I ALSO HEARD IT IN "EXIT THE DRAGON ENTER THE TIGER" AND ALSO WHEN THEY SHOWED THE TRAILER TO "KILL OR BE KILLED".

Awesome...so to others it does sound familier...I still thought it was re-used from other Blax flicks, but I guess I'm wrong.

They're library records, they're usually quite obscure and hard to find.

You can find it online [for download], along with their website which hosts them digitally:

http://www.kpmmusichouse.com/

eDIT: You could try Discogs, it's listed on there but no-one has it for sale as yet.

Wow, that's impressive!

Thank you very much, the search's afoot!
