Since there were no F bombs, it might've been a PG-13 for the racial slurs.

Yes. Or, more likely, it simply wouldn’t get made from this script. Kids actually talk like kids in this movie.

I never watched the 2005 remake... I’m assuming the language is cleaned up a lot?
