I've seen this movie twice now and I've enjoyed watching it both times.
Meanwhile, I could barely get through Citizen Kane (which has been called the greatest film of all time).
I'd rather be watching The Bad News Bears. Much more enjoyable movie!

Kane is better but this is definitely more enjoyable.
shareI have to agree. I don't mean to knock Kane, but as great a film as it may be, it simply lacks broad appeal.
To me, Bad News Bears belongs on the short list for the Great American Movie, along with Taxi Driver and The Godfather. It is obviously far kinder with its depiction of the American soul, but just as unflinching.

shareI had a literature professor who said, on the first day of class, "if you've ever enjoyed a book, it wasn't any good." That perfectly sums up the idiotic attitude of anyone who would say "Kane is better but this is more enjoyable." Sorry, but if it's more enjoyable, it's better.
