The Children's Clothing

The oddest thing about this film is the choice that was made to have the lead children all wear the same personal clothing throught the entire film. In clearer words, the children never change their wardrobe choices from day to day. Was this done so that we could quickly identify the character, or was it done so they could shoot any scene anytime and edit it seemlessly anywhere in the film, or was it done because French children like to dress that way!?

Seems to me it was just the facts of the matter. Children today would be fashion conscious and wouldn't dare wear the same clothes day after day. I think it was part of the innocence of the times.
