Worse than 'MIGHTY PEKING MAN'???

Is "A*P*E" really any worse than "MIGHTY PEKING MAN"? Seems like for some reason "MIGHT PEKING MAN" is considered much higher than "A*P*E" and I'm not too sure if there is that much a difference between the two films.

Well, in my opinion, yes, "APE" is worse than "Mighty Peking Man". The reason is that "Mighty Peking Man" can at least maintain a consistancy of entertainment. I was never bored by "Mighty Peking Man", and I even admit to being legitimately entertained by it at points, as opposed to being entertained by the mere camp value. "APE" on the other hand, well, I've seen it a lot. Many more times, in fact, than "Mighty Peking Man", and hell when I was a little kid I used to love it. But now... well... not so much. Much of it is still pretty funny, but a lot of it just plain BORES me. The last time I watched it, in fact, I was showing it to a friend who also appreciates bad movies, and we both fell asleep. Luckily all we missed was about 10 minutes of repetitious stock footage, but still, plain boring.

Anyway thats my opinion on why "APE" is worse than "Mighty Peking Man", but they both have a place in my heart.

By the by, you want to see a TRULY terrible giant gorilla movie? Get yourself a copy of "The Mighty Gorga". The worst in my opinion. I've seen it like 5 times. I love it, but definitely the worst. Take care!

I have to agree, the Mighty Gorga is the worst out of the "giant ape" movies that I have seen so far.
I wasn't too pleased with Konga either, that ape didn't exactly rampage now did it? Just kind of stood in front of big been and got the shinola blown out of it.
I haven't got my hands on copies of Queen Kong and Kinky Kong yet, but only after 5 minutes of APE, it won't be much better than the Mighty Gorga.
At least Gorga came in a double feature package, with trailers (cheap APE DVD came with nothing...).

This is not an actual response, but rather an observation about "MIGHTY PEKING MAN". I am consistantly annoyed by lack of coverage under "King Kong" cross-refernces. Not only is this film clearly a "King Kong" adaptation, but at one point anewspaper headline in Chinese reads "KING KONG MONSTER SIGHTED". Of course the English disolve changes the name.

I'm about to watch this movie, so I had to come over here and see what you guys had to say about it. It sounds like it's pretty much what I'd expected. LOL! I'm still going to watch it, though. I saw clips from this movie in another movie, and they made me laugh.

I had forgotten all about "Mighty Peking Man". That's one of only a handful of b-movies I've never seen. I must find it, so I can honestly say that I've seen the worst film ever made.

"Mighty Peking Man" is camp entertainment and very suspensful (Will the female Tarzan lose her top ????? :)). I haven't seen APE, but from what you say, I'dgather MPM is a few notches above it. It's better than "KIng Kong 2". Come to think of it, lots of things on this Earth are better than "King Kong 2"…

The Mighty Peking Man stands well enough on it's own. A*P*E's enjoyment, if there is any, comes entirely from its campiness.

Mighty Peking Man has production values that A*P*E can only dream of

UGH. My brothers and I sat down to watch this - sure, there were a few laugh parts that - OMG Hahaha how lame

Examples: The hang glider. That poor shark. Seeing the "APE"'s sleeves come up and ... hey look, a wrist. That's a guy lol.

But ... ugh.

This movie. You can't sit through it. It's horrible. It's so bad you need to watch it - and the worst of the worst B movies out there, will even look like masterpieces compared to this.

Watch it. Then burn it. Burn it twice, just to be sure it's dead.
