FBI Joe?
Who was FBI Joe supposed to be?
Is there any speculation on it? Is it supposed to be Felt too and Woodstein were giving us hints?
According to Bob Woodward, 'Joe' was invented for the film, and was most likely a hint to Felt's identity. Around the time Felt died, Woodward said, "The clues to Deep Throat's identity are all there. Pay attention and you'll see them."
Early in the film, Woodward tells an editor the FBI was a source for some minor confirmation. He uses a "Felt" tip pen to doodle a blockhead character (Felt's caricature?) when he's calling around about Hunt.
We're all left to draw our own conclusions about hints. Fun stuff....
