Ambrose Bierce

Although the movie is overtly based on Lewis Carroll's classic Alice novels, we shouldn't forget the influence Bierce's famous short-story has on the plot too. I admit it fully took me by surprise, since, in Carroll's style, I was expecting an unresolved, unexplained string of bizarre events.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.
