Since the whole film is about crossing boundaries, you can certainly make a case that it's not out of place, but it's obviously disturbing - intentionally so I would think.

Absolutely NOT. In that scene, she grabs a little boys penis probably to cause pain. She does NOT 'play with it', she just holds it.
Get the U.S. NC-17 version which is completely UNcut.

She doesn't play with it or have oral contact with it, she was playing with the children and the boy was getting a bit rambunctious so she pinched him, nothing sexual about it in my opinion except she happened to pinch his privates, I didn't really think it was intentional when she grabbed it, but I could be wrong, its been a while since Ive seen the film.

The version I just watched didn't show this happening - at the point where I presume she grabs him, what had been a long(ish) shot of the whole room zooms in, and the picture quality drops, as the screen only shows the top left part of the shot, which excludes the act in question. But for this thread, I wouldn't even be aware that had happened.

must be in another cut of the film. i watched the criterion version and there was no such scene. there was a scene with sada playing with two naked children and she grabs the boy by the privates. it was a weird scene and odd. i interpreted the scene as those were his children he had with the wife and since sada was so obsessed with him and his willy she was equally obsessed with his sons willy. very strange scene i agree. but no oral as far as i recall.
shareI guess I misremembered then. It's a long time since I saw the film. Certainly there was inappropriate contact with the boy's penis. The memory can play tricks on one.
Either way the scene was obviously there to make a point about how far beyond normal sexual boundaries Sada had gone.
