I was a little unsure of something with the scene where he is lying dead and his will being read out. Were they falsifying it or was that his real wishes?

I had the same question, but I assume that Giovanni was making it up due to the amount he is getting.

They were clearly falsifying it. The man writing the will wasn't even in the same room for this purpose, as Alfredo Snr's son was speaking in a weakened voice to imitate his dying father. Alfredo Jr witnessed this and made a scene of it, which the father and mother quickly attempted to stop so as to keep the gig going.
