Popular outside of the U.S.?

Wikipedia mentions that it ran in syndication for years in the U.K. but what about elsewhere - especially outside of English-speaking countries?

reply

It was quite popular in Australia. My generation all watched it as kids growing up.

Cool. Thanks!

I remember in the 80s this show coming on in reruns and I had bought a black and white TV from my neighbor for 10 bucks. It would quit working and I would have to smash the top of it with my shoe to jolt the vacuum tubes back to life. Ah yes, those were the days.

reply

Yes it was popular here as a filler in the morning programming.
I watched it as a kid every time I was sick at home.
Once I faked being sick to see the second episode of the one with the piramids.

reply

Thanks. “Here” being where?

reply

I remember watching it in the UK. I think it was in the Saturday tea time slot on the BBC and (in those distant days of one TV per household and 2 or 3 channels) everyone watched it.

reply

Yes, likewise. And Lynda Carter's picture seemed to be everywhere (much like Pamela Anderson in the mid 90s). I made sure I never missed an episode.
