Mabel King supposedly left the show because she didnt approve of Ra and Dee only having one parent and wanted Mama to re-marry. But really - how stupid is that?! She had to have known the charactor was a "Single Mother" when she signed on to do the show!

Yeah, I won't say "promised", but I think she was given the impression that certain things would come to pass for her character. She really liked the episode where Mama went back to school and apparently they told her there'd be more episodes like that, but they never happened and she ended up leaving the show. Of course the three guys were the show's center, but I agree that they could have given her a few more episodes where she was the main focus. The episode where her boss falsely accuses her of stealing is a good one, but even there, it's more about the boys trying to solve the mystery.
shareinteresting how the show went downhill after her character was written out. it would have saved money. she only wanted a bf/husband. after she leaves they bring in snake,big & little earl. they had to pay 3 other ppl. I agree completly with her decision.

Yeah, it's sad that when it looked like she had a dude interested in her (played by Percy Rodrigues), he was just playing her so she'd do his homework. When Bill and Lee got married, Raj told Dee that Mama dated, it would have been nice if they'd shown her go on at least one of those dates.

shareNo, what happened was she got tired over there being so little for her to do and she wanted the father character to at least be around, which the producers didn't do. That was why she left. Remember, the father was there at first, so she didn't complain.
