anyone else think Rerun is kind of annoying?

The irritating voice. can't act.

He messed up everything in the Doobie Brothers episode. He didn't get tickets because his fat ass couldn't wait in line and opted to go for a hamburger instsead (was there any point where he *wasn't* eating). Then he gets suckered into the bootlegging business. Then the moron decides to open his coat, and stand up and dance, all right in the front row. but the recording was worthless anyway because Rerun was crunching chips throughout the whole thing.

and what is with all the fat jokes on Shirley? Rerun weighed even more than her.

Rerun was fun to watch dance, but sometimes he was annoying and at times a bad friend, like when (spoilers) he ditched his friends when he got on the football team and still wanted Raj to write his speech for him and when he auditioned for the Gong Show the same time the Givens kids were supposed to go on....

Yeah. I liked Ernest Thomas's acting job in the Doobie Brothers episode especially. I love it when he tries to sound older by doing the deep man's voice, that's funny as hell.

I think everybody on this show does a good acting job except Rerun. His delivery is just really flat. I also don't know why he didn't stick around for long in the What's Happening Now, I don't think he had any overflow of job offers at that point in his career. Plus, near the end of the show, he was damn near 30 -- playing a high schooler/college freshman.

I liked the Givens children and think they were perfect for the role. Too bad they didn't go on to bigger things apparently.

Rerun left Whats happening now because he felt he wasn't being paid enough!! His ego hurt him big time... His character was a used car salesman on whats happening now..

His character was always throwing someone under the bus, but the brotha COULD dance. Towards the end of the series, it seemed like he wanted more camera time and his overall attitude seemed abrasive. Maybe this was the time he was demanding more money.

I enjoyed Raj the most out of the crew, with Dee & Mama, then Dwayne & Shirley next, followed by Rerun.

Thank you!! I thought that I was the only one who felt this way about him. I noticed that some other's have commented on how good a dancer he was. I must have been watching something different. He was NOT a good dancer, especially with pants that he wore up to his chest and with suspenders. Made him look heavier than normal.

He was good for that time with what they were doing. And was a regular on Soul Train before the show started. So, to those who make the decisions on who can dance, he was in fact a good dancer.

That episode was not Rerun's finest hour.

Annoying, yes, but in an interesting way. Berry's voice and certain of his mannerisms have always made me think of him as the black Joe Besser, odd as that might sound.

I thought he was pretty good, but the above summation of Rerun's attempt at the Doobie Brothers concert made me laugh out loud.

didn't think he was annoying just funny

Yes he was! Fred can act like he was the reason people were tuning in but I honestly could do without him.
