My least favorite episode (pre-lil earl) is when the consul of arango did a hit and run on rerun's car and the kids had to go to the consolate.
Anyway, the son of the consul was the one who was driving the car. He looked45 years old but was supposed to be 16. Who were they fooling? Dude had wrinkles.
And the kid just wanted to hang out with American kids so roger said, hey you can hang out with us at robs place.... Yet he was never seen again.

Tony Plana, who played Amid, wasn't even 26 when that episode aired. It's not unusual for people in their mid 20s to play teenagers. He's younger than both Ernest Thomas & Fred Berry. He was only 54 when he started playing Betty's father on Ugly Betty 28 1/2 years later.
He didn't have "wrinkles" he had acne scars.
What's Happening!! was his first acting role.

OK, that may all be true, however, he did look a lot older than the other "teenage" actors, and at 10 yrs older than his character, he looked nothing like a teenager.

I was actually surprised at how old Ernest Thomas was at the time that he started playing Raj. I mean, I could tell that Berry was far from a teenager himself, but suspension of disbelief, coupled with the understanding that he had been held back enough times in school to make it plausible that he might be "older" and just immature, made it a little easier to grasp. But then again grew up watching El Chavo Del Ocho on Spanish language television, which basically consisted of grown adults acting as kids younger than 12, so after that nothing phases me lol.

Well, Thomas was closer to thirty at the time, but was very convincing as a teenager. I don't have any real problem with it, but others have complained about it. I mean I didn't buy Berry as a teenager but loved watching him on the show anyway.
