A moment of revelation....
For 30 years I thought one of the best characters on tv at the time was
Falcon Eddie.
Just this minute I found out it was not Falcom Eddie but Falconetti.
It was just a WOW moment for me.
When I first watched this with my roomates all those years ago, we all thought the same thing. But, during the credits one of us noticed that it was Falconetti, and we all got a big laugh. I'll always think of him as Falcon Eddie, though.

The scriptwriters must have agreed with you about this character as Falconetti appeared more often in the TV series than in the book.

In the book Falconetti jumped overboard after being humiliated by Tom on the ship. Later in the book it was a man named Donavick or something like that, who picked up Rudy's wife, was beaten by Tom, and who then arranged for his murder. In the miniseries, Falconetti stayed aboard the ship and was carted off, emerging later with an eyepatch, and seeking revenge, took over the Donavick role.

Yep, that was another example of combining two or three characters from the book into one appearing in the show.

Not meaning to seem rude... But did none of you 'Falcon Eddie' guys notice that many people do mention his first name, Anthony?
Or if not, simply the fact that he is addressed as *Mister* Falconetti?
I watched both books back to back, so I may be misremembering, but I know for certain his sister always calls him Anthony. I *thought* this happens in both books, but I could be wrong.
Then again, it could have been a deliberate slight misdirection. 'Falcon Eddie' does sound like someone who'd be a fixer for a Mafia group or something!! :-D
