The 'Unaired' Episodes

The last four episodes are described as unaired by NBC, but they did get aired abroad. I remember watching "Dynasty of Evil" and "The Seminole Negro Indian Scouts" in Ireland in the 1970s, and a French website dealing with TV Westerns says that they aired in France.
So how come the USA can't see them, but other countries can?

NBC cancelled the series before all of the filmed episodes had a chance to air. That used to happen quite a bit back in the 1970s/1990s with new shows that had low ratings right off the bat.
