Sorry about this, I know topics like this are annoying. However, I've heard quite a lot about this, and would like to know whether it's worth getting into.
I love the classic series of Doctor Who and the original Quatermass serials, so if the production values are dodgy, I'll be okay. I basically want something well written and fun with some good chemistry between the actors.
I'm torn between this, Sapphire and Steel or the Prisoner (they're all about the same price on amazon). Which would you most recommend?

I love The Avengers and The New Avengers. I have all the boxed sets you mentioned. I would recommend them in this order:

1. The Prisoner - a classic. Brilliant! It's echoes can be felt in the series "Lost."

2. The New Avengers - Brian Clemens referred to it as "a drama with comedic overtones." It seems to exist in a different world than The Avengers, but well worth a watch.

3. Sapphire and Steele - Dr Who production values. For me, worth a look, but not a second look.
