In Search Of... books by Alan Landsburg

Did anyone read the books written by Alan Landsburg? I believe they had a TV tie in with a foreword written by Leonard Nimoy. How were they? You can find them pretty easily on ebay and abebooks but I don't want to blind buy.

I found a book club edition at a used book store a few years back and I thought it was pretty interesting. I saw a couple of paperback editions, too, and I wish I had picked them up.
