Did the 4 Emperors ever get together?


I mean, was there ever a possibility that Augustus, Tiberius, Claudius and Caligula (an infant) ever shared the same area (a banquet, the palace)?

Caligula was only 2 years old when Augustus died ( 14 AD). Maybe Germanicus and Agrippina brought him on some of those big family dinners but I doubt it. Caligula was born and raised in Germany. It's very possible that he was in Rome for the first time in 17 AD ( when Germanicus celebrated his triumph - see "The Caesars", episode 3).

Ups, I made a little mistake. Caligula was actually born in Antium, Italy. But that doesn't change too much of what I said in my previous post, except that Caligula was in Rome for the first time in 17 AD, of course.

As the Imperial household was fairly close-nit, they would have shared many activities together, most importantly religious ones as depicted here:
