A comedy? Really?

Why do all the cast in interviews claim the series was a comedy? I loved the entire series, but never considered it funny.

Of course it is more than a comedy, but there is a lot of comedy in it. For instance, Hail Who?, Caligula's last episode, must be at least 80% comedy.
