I have just started to listen to the Radio 4 serialisation of Frederic Raphael's novel. This morning on 'Start the Weeki" somebody talking about the series says that 'the pictures are better on radio'!! I have the whole series on NTSC video and am about to revisit the tapes and see if this is true.

shareI do - on dvd. 'Was originally recorded on vhs (EP speed) so the quality is slightly washed out, but all the episodes (6) are intact and in very good shape.

The image shows Tom Conti and you can see "BBC" logo. The fact that is Region 1 must mean there are "legal" reasons why the BBC cannot sell this in it's own country- crazy.
Quick rant: What a pathetic idea it was to restrict DVDs to "Regions". You can still buy and play DVDs anywhere. It's just become a pointless irritation.
This is being released on August 12, 2008 on a DVD that plays all regions for $29.98.
