Did the Show End?

Now this is not some dumb thing about the last episode or anything.. I have seen all Man about the House, George and Mildred and Robin's Nest And the films, BUT due to the Date of Release for the film and how well it was doing etc, i am not sure about how the show ended..

Man About the House had the three part story about Chrissy getting Married (yet George and Mildred never noticed it was to there new Next door Neighbour ^_^) and that pretty much ended that.. There was NO tie in to Robin's nest (Really, it would have been nice a one off special where Robin, having to come to terms more with Chrissy getting married and moving out, mets vicky and moves (wonder what happened to joe?) and that would have set that up.. George and Mildred said all the others moved out and then they were more forced to move. Now..

Yootha Joyce died 1980, a big loss really.. now IF she didn't have died, would they have made another series? this is more what i am talking about.. Was the Show Stopped because they had no more storys? was it stopped because the company didn't think it was populator enought for another series? (since it just had a film, i think that was a little unlikey) or WAS it because she died? really.. i believe it was.. Though it would be intresting to have a Man about the House special these days.. Robin, Vicky and the Kids, Met up with his Brother and wife Chrissy, also Joe comes to the reunion and they find out mildred is dead and how geogre has been coping (in fact, in Man about the house, he falls apart when she leaves him for a short time.. how would he cope with her death?)

I ended because Yootha died, they were going to do another series in 1980.

ah good.. well.. not good she died but good that i have found out once and for all IF it was that reason or not.. With most programs, i think it is better that they stop it when a main one dies.. but at the same time, like i said, George appearing in Robin's Nest Coping after her death would have been a nice tribute episode

I don't think there was much enthusiasm on behalf of the others to carry on once Yootha had passed away.

I remember that George and Mildred had to end because of the death of Yootha Joyce, although it gone on for a few years so its likely there might only be a series or two left.

Its that man again!!

Yootha Joyce died on the day rehearsals for the new series were due to start. Everyone agreed that they could not continue without Yootha, and the series was canned. A reunion of 'Man About The House' couldn't happen either. Sadly, Richard O'Sullivan suffered a stroke in the mid 2000's, & retired to an actors home.
