Would Loved To Have Seen Man About The House Guest Appearances

I LOVED George and Mildred, as I did Man About The House. I often wonder, though, why none of the Man About The House stars ever made a guest appearance in George and Mildred. It would have been nice to see them.

It was the same with Robin's Nest, neither the two girls nor George or Mildred ever dropping in to Robin's cafe to say hello.

(Sigh) One of the biggest disappointments in TV history, for me. I just cannot get enough of Man About The House or George and Mildred!

Yes-couldn't they have had the Ropers going for an anniversary dinner in Robin's Nest?

Sadly, there was only 1 cross-over between the three. (You can't really count Robin's Father since it was a different actor). That was Det. Sgt. Burke played by Robert Gillespie. He appears in One episode of Series one of Robin's Nest, and one episode of Series two. He was then (playing the same character) the Series two Episode 'All around the Clock' of George & Mildred.. Though the next series he appeared as a completely different character which was a shame.

One of the best places for a crossover would have been when Robin got married.. They comment why his brother isn't there, but not chrisy.. and it would have been nice for George and Mildread to appear and then find out about the wedding (i don't think Robin would have invited them as he wouldn't have kept in contact with them, and probebly not jo either.

Not kept in contact with Jo? Why not???? She was totally unforgettable, and a real good friend! If I had have been him, I would have ALWAYS kept in contact with Jo, as she was just gorgeous, and it has always been a constant source of amazement to me in the Man About The House universe why he did not end up with her!

I know what you mean, but People drift out of contact when they are no-where near each other. These days with the Internet, it people have a better and easier way to keep in contact, but i just doubt that apart from the odd letter, they would be that close once they all go there own way (We don't even know when that happened. We Know that Chrissy was the first to leave. Then, basicly within a year, Robin got a girl friend (Vicky) and moved in with her, and Jo left. After that year, the Place was Sold and the Roper moved into a new house. We aren't sure in what order things happened but since Robin and Vicky seam pretty close, they probebly met not long after Chrissy got married.

Why a year? basicly, saying the show pretty much worked in real time. It was about a year between Man About the House Ended, and Robin's nest/Geogre and Mildread Started (and it stats in the start of GM, that everyone had moved out before).

Though there was never that much between Jo and Robin.. Atlest nothing that would be anything over then a one night stand or something, but then they where good enought friends to know that would be a bad idea. Jo has proven a number of times she wasn't quite as dumb as she seamed.

My guess is that Vicky replaced Chrissy and it went on from there.

There could also be problems caused by the fact that Robin's brother was played by Norman Eshley.
