I really love the episode 'My Husband Next Door' - when George's television goes on the blink, he goes next door to watch the neighbours set. The Fourmiles' are on holiday, so George makes himself at home with a couple of beers and settles down to watch the horse racing - in the mean-time, Mildred telephones a painting & decorating firm for a quote to paint her living room. One thing leads to another and the decorators mistake the Fourmile's house for the Ropers and begin to strip the rather expensive wallpaper. George and Mildred are left to put things right and there is a wonderful 'silent movie' scene with lots of Laurel and Hardy type happenings; Mildred is cutting a piece of wallpaper and cuts George's tie in half - George comes down the ladder and steps straight into the paste bucket - really silly I know, but very funny!

My fav has to be the one where George forgets to pay the electric bill and has the power cut off at the same time trying to keep it from Mildred who has invited her posh sister over for dinner, very farcical and one of the best. Ithink the episode is called "The Unkindest Cut Of All"

I watched every episode again last week and i think i'd go with 'Life With Father' George's father is an even bigger washout than his son, George's life seems to have been a roaring success when compared with his father's, i loved all the stuff about their history together and his fathers attempts at emotional blackmail.'Just The Job' is great episode too with George's Traffic Warden interview and him turning up at Tristram's posh school in his Traffic Warden's uniform after just having cement bag emptied over him.

There are two kinds of people in the world my friend those with loaded guns and those who dig
