Drama

This certainly was very dramatic and serious wasn't it? At least the first season. They seem like they never had any fun. Nonetheless, a very good show, too classy, it seems, to have been Aaron Spelling.

I wonder if it was his attempt to show that he could do more than just his typical type of TV shows.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad it was on. Intelligent, thoughtful TV during a time when there wasn't much of that to be found.

Since at one point in this show Buddy mentions THE WALTONS being her favorite TV show, I'm thinking FAMILY was trying to be a MODERN DAY version of that show???

Except this family was more UPPER CLASS than the lower class WALTONS??? But for some reason they're also portrayed as if they're working class???

It was also funny to hear KATE surprised to discover the house was worth $90,000 when they considered selling it and moving to NYC.

I suppose that was like being told today that your house was worth a MILLION???

Wonder how much that house would cost to own now???

Modern Day Waltons but the show both ended early 80s

What I mean is it appears to be full of the same kind of stories that are moralistic in nature or have some kind of a lesson that they present to us about some aspect of life.

But the WALTONS took place back during the time of the depression, whereas this show mostly takes place in the mind 70's.

But basically they also seem to offer us a tale about what to do if one were to be confronted with the same kind of a problem.
