Buddy and Audrey...

Buddy totally looked butch..and well, so did Audrey..and Buddy had a line about "Audrey isn't completely comfortable anywhere but her room". I wonder just how she knew that...hmmmmmm...

reply

Hahaha. Yeah. Hm.

reply

Yeah but Buddy ALWAYS had a boyfriend...Audrey on the other hand...hmmm.

:) Well, but Buddy had to have a boyfriend. She was a main character. Did Audrey never have one?

I wonder if they are going to go that way with the middle child (forget her name) on "Medium"? (They came awful close to suggesting she might be gay on one recent episode.)

During the entire run, there were numerous episodes that involved Buddy, Audrey and the boys in their lives. I saw nothing that indicated they were involved with each other or with other females.

I wouldn't exactly say Buddy looked Butch. I'd say she looked like a tom-boy in the earlier episodes. In the later episodes, I think she looked adorable. Satin and lace isn't for everyone!!!

reply

She always looked like she needed a shower and shampoo.

reply

I agree, her hair cut left a lot to be desired. I think it was part of her being a tom-boy.

reply

Well Kristi McNichol has now proclaimed herself as a lesbian, so there you have it.

"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

I disagree, I don't think Kristy looked butch, and I don't consider her that much a tomboy either, I think she was just sporty and athletic looking, butch imply's masculine in some way, she definitely was not, she was all girl. Hetero men are usually turned off by butch women, you sure can't say that about Kristy McNichol, she's exactly my age, all us guys had a crush on her, we wanted her as our girlfriend, she's super cute.

Audrey (Louise Foley) was a beautiful blond girl, those glasses detracted from her looks too, she didn't do any more acting after Family, I bet she grew up to be gorgeous.

reply

Hey bill3-1, I agree with everything you said except for the part about Audrey's glasses- I personally have a thing for girls with glasses! BTW you should check out Louise "Wish" Foley's bio, written by none other than Louise herself! There's everything you need to know about what she did after Family, including some Tom Petty videos. Incidentally, the videos are on YouTube, and you're right- she did grow up to be gorgeous. Unfortunately (for me), she doesn't have the glasses on!

I do wish there was a pic of what she looks now tho...

Hi subcarrier, what YouTube videos are you referring to? I know about the Family ones, seen them all, wish there were more (checked out the TP one too). The only Foley ones I think are a different Louise Foley since she has an English accent, the lady is heavy set too. Checked out the bio, thanks. She sure was a beautiful girl!

reply

Hey again bill3-1,

In her bio Louise mentions the Tom Petty videos she appeared in- they are both on youtube. Even though she's making goofy faces quite a bit it's interesting to see her in a different element than she was in on "Family".

Since you said you checked them out that's what I was referring to.

Again, I'd like to see her now. Or not- maybe I should just remember her the way she was. Poor Kristy looked so rough the last time I saw her..time and all her issues have taken their toll.

Don't know if you'll see this, subcarrier, but there's an extensive interview online with Louise from last year, including several then and now photos of her. The URL is below. I just checked it out today, and it's still active. She looks great and seems like such a cool lady. Hope you see this and enjoy.

Hey Skip!

Thanks very much for the link. I didn't waste any time checking it out! You're right, she still looks good and still has the dimples! The only bummer is that she didn't mention acting in "Family", and even though I know that's not what the interview was about, she could have snuck it in somewhere (like when she was asked what are you doing now and she only went back to 1992). Even so, I loved reading about her. Thanks again!

It's just a TV show, with crewmen all around watching, with a box of donuts and coffee nearby on a table. Really, people! Get a grip.

reply

Then perhaps you are on the wrong site because this is the place to discuss movies, tv shows, actors....and the characters they play. Get a grip.
