$20,000 is a crappy grand prize

If you win it all you get $20,000. Split five ways after taxes isn't even worth the trip to California.

At least they get to try more than once.

I never understood why "Family Feud" Fast Money was so low.

It was 5,000 on the daytime version, and 10,000 on the nighttime version from 1976-1992.

They introduce the Bullseye Round in 1992 where you start off with 2,500 on the daytime, and 5,000 on the syndicated nighttime version, and you build it up to the same amount 10,000 or 20,000.

Then you have the Bankroll Round introduced in 1994 which is basically Bullseye. The most you can win was up to 7,000 in the first half, and $14,000 in the second.

I mean 5,000 about 35 years ago was decent money, but still split between 5 people in $1,000, and then you have taxes.

Today you have $20,000 which you can't really buy a decent brand new car with is still no money, and split between five people, what is that rent money, if that for one month? I think they should up it to at least raise $50,000.

Hell, $20,000 (before taxes and such) for an hour or so worth of your time on a game show is not a bad day's work.

The grand prize is actually the car (winning five matches in a row), but each person would only get to use it for part of the year, unless the family decides to give it to whomever needs it most.

I still think what Family Feud show do is for each round won by a family they will he the dollar amount as well as a prize and to win the Fast Money they will get the $20,000 and the prizes.

Well if you win 5 in a row you can win up to $100,000 plus a new car. Pretty good for a weeks worth of work.
