Ok who else had a massive crush on Lindy-plops? What a gorgeous woman, and all Tom could do was make crappy wine and complain...idiot!

Absolutely beautiful, just the right side of curvy, and a predilection for revealing tops - great! I'm a cleavage person.

She wasn't the best actress though, and didn't seem to do much else.

Really? Wasn't she his niece tho? I didn't know the books were delving into incest. Interesting, no wonder they dropped that for the tv series!

With a niece is "ok", as it doesn't qualify as incest. Still would have been a bit saucy for the BBC, and would have made Jimmy a slightly darker character than he is in the TV series.

I've been watching them all again recently for the first time in two decades (since I first saw them as a kid) and noticed Jimmy was a bit leery round Linda.

I wondered what the background to that was but that info from the books would clear it up.

Sally-Jane was a great looker back then. Shame she never did too much more in acting.

Absolutely agree - she was stunning, pity she did not do more acting. In those days they did not know much about brand product placement on TV either, I reckon she is still one of the best models for bell bottom Levi jeans - she looks awesome in them

The previous poster who called her "just the right side of curvy" is absolutely right. That's a great way of putting it. Imagine how she'd look in one of those low-slung 70's bikinis. I just watched the first two seasons and I wished they found some reason to put her in a bathing suit. I thought she was much younger than 31-32. But imdb lists her birth year as 1945. Would love to see her now. I'll bet she's a nice looking 65 year old lady.

Also, a previous poster said sex between an uncle and niece isn't incest. I never knew that. I would hope there would be a law against it. Was this not the case in the 1970's? Was this not the case in Great Britain? I find it hard to believe that it would simply be 'frowned upon.' I would have thought it to be illegal.

Sorry, I was wrong about that - incest DOES include uncles and aunts. Gives the books a little extra frisson!
