Parallels between Charlie's Angels and Charmed

Do you agree with the following assessment? Charmed is essentially Charlie's Angels meets The Witches of Eastwick:

*Holly Marie Combs = Jaclyn Smith (stayed thru the duration of the show)
*Lori Rom = Farrah Fawcett (left the show and probably regretted it later)
*Shannon Doherty = Kate Jackson (hated the sexy one and got fired by Aaron Spelling)
*Alyssa Milano = Cheryl Ladd (the sexy one)
*Rose McGowan = Shelley Hack/Tanya Roberts (the forgettable replacement)

With three women kicking ass and looking good while doing it, Charmed naturally drew comparisons to Charlie’s Angels. The only difference is that the Halliwell sisters weren’t answering to a disembodied male voice. If there was any allegiance, it was to the wisdom of their matriarchal line.

Charmed you could argue, was especially similar to the 2000s Charlie's Angels movies in which you don't know if it's supposed to be a feminist piece about strong independent women or a pandering, exploitative male fantasy. Both Charmed under Brad Kern and the Cameron Diaz/Drew Barrymore/Lucy Liu movies under McG you could say, exists as merely an excuse to get their female stars in as many skimpy, "fetish-y" type of outfits or situations as possible. Heck, I always thought that Holly Marie Combs kind of resembles Lucy Liu, but that's merely a coincidence.

I would argue Shannen is the 'Farrah' of Charmed since she stayed the shortest but was probably the big name which people think of re this series.

Rom wasn't even in the first season

I think exactly the same, everyone loved Prue and is the most remembered and iconic character from Charmed so Shannen would be Farrah.

Exactly

Although I do agree with the Rose McGowan comparison. She never matched up.
